One of the retail spaces awaiting occupation along the boulevard at our Castleward development in Derby has been used to showcase artwork produced by a local university graduate.

brown resizedSince we began work on this major regeneration scheme in the city, Compendium Living have worked with local charitable arts organisation QUAD on several occasions to showcase arts-based projects in the city.  We recently teamed up with them and the University of Derby to display a collection of seven sculptures by Derby University graduate Roger Gregory in one of our unoccupied retail units.

Named ‘Curious Cavities’ Roger’s work is based on detailed anatomical structures within the human body.

Ian Woodland, Compendium Living Project Manager, said:  “We wanted to provide something of interest for those passing by, as the number of people using the boulevard has increased as the scheme has developed.

“It’s also a great way of giving the students, especially Roger in this case, the satisfaction of having their work seen by the public.  The artwork has already drawn a lot of interest, as Roger’s sculptures are really eye-catching.”
