We are delighted that our Castleward project in Derby picked up yet another award in September.

The £100 million regeneration scheme won Regeneration and Restoration Project of the Year at the 2017 East Midlands Property Awards.

Our Managing Director, Dave Bullock (second from left), was there to receive the award.  He commented “This is wonderful news for everyone who has worked on Castleward and for everyone who is living and working there now.

“Castleward is living proof of successful regeneration and we are incredibly proud of what we have achieved with phase one. Plans are well underway for phase two and this award gives us even more confidence that the project will continue to breathe new life into this area of Derby.”

Castleward is Compendium Living’s redevelopment of 30 acres of brownfield land between Derby Midland Station and the Intu shopping centre.  It is already emerging as a brand new community of sustainable homes and businesses.  Phase 1 provided 164 new homes, 18,750 square feet of commercial floor-space and an attractive boulevard with public art.  In addition, Phase 2, a mixture of two and three bedroom homes and apartments, has been submitted for planning approval.

The project is no stranger to awards, having won two previous regional industry accolades since construction began in 2013 – fbe East Midlands Best Regeneration Project in 2014 and Derby Civic Society Commendation for Best New Build Development in 2016.

In addition, in 2013 Castleward became only the country’s second residential project to receive BREEAM accreditation for its overall sustainability.
